Princeton Runs Past Rutgers and LaSalle in Home Meet

PRINCETON, NJ. - The Princeton Tigers improved their record to 2-0 as they defeated Rutgers and LaSalle in the first home meet of the 1998 season.
Four Tigers placed in the Top 10 leading Princeton to a win with 35 points. LaSalle finished second with 45 points while Rutgers came in third with 48 points. In dual competition, Princeton recorded a score of 24 to defeat Rutgers by eleven points. Only one point separated Rutgers and LaSalle in their head-to-head totals. Rutgers took the edge with 28 points and LaSalle tallied 29. Princeton also placed ahead of LaSalle by the score of 26 to 33.
Karen O'Neil (Medford, NJ) was the top Princeton finisher with a time of 18:10.41, giving her fourth place overall. Courtney Ebersole (Lebanon, PA) was right behind recording the fifth best time at 18:18.60.
Rutger's Colleen Sunderland recorded the best time of the meet at 17:46.6, the only sub-18 performance of the day.
Princeton's next meet will take place at the Iona Invitational on Sept. 26. Meet begins at 10 am.
