Norfolk - The fourth-ranked Tigers of Princeton topped #5 North Carolina, 4-3, Saturday afternoon in a neutral site contest at Old Dominion University's Foreman Field. With the win, the Tigers improve to 13-2 while the Tar Heels fall to 12-5.
North Carolina jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind a goal apiece by Katie McDonald and Nancy Pelligreen. The Tar Heels scored 12 seconds into action and held that 2-0 lead until 1:45 left in the half.
Princeton tied the game on a goal by Alison Morris (Coquitlam, BC, Canada) and then took the lead on a goal by Hilary Matson (Marathon, NY). Matson would strike again just over two minutes into overtime for the win.
