Scrimmage vs. Penn
August 17, 1999 | Women's Soccer
Sept. 5, 1998
In an informal but highly competitive match, the Tigers emerged victorious today against Ivy league rivals, the Quakers. While both teams got off to a somewhat shaky start, an unassisted 40-yard goal by Susan Rea towards the middle of the first half gave Princeton a lead that would last. Keepers Jordan Rettig and Jonna Iacono split time in the Princeton goal, but the Tiger defense allowed few shots while the offense largely controlled the tempo of the game. Overall, it was clear that the season is just beginning, with some errant touches and nerves showing through, but with a strong core of upperclassmen coming off of their Europe trip and several talented freshmen added into the mix the Tigers should do well.
