Back-to-Back Ivy Champ Women's Soccer Welcomes Six from Class of 2030
June 12, 2026 | Women's Soccer
Coming off back-to-back Ivy League championships, Princeton women's soccer will welcome a six-member incoming class that includes four Top Drawer Soccer national top-200 recruits, with all six ranked among the top 25 players in their respective regions.
Â
"Countless hours evaluating top talent have culminated in the opportunity to introduce the Class of 2030 to our supporters," Princeton head coach Sean Driscoll said. "Identifying exceptional student-athletes who embody our core values and embrace the transformational Princeton experience remains the foundation of our program. I must thank assistant coach Chris Duggan and associate head coach/recruiting coordinator Mike Poller for their efforts in assembling another nationally ranked recruiting class (25th by TopDrawerSoccer). Chris is entering his fifth year with our program, and this group of six student-athletes marks the second class he has helped build from its infancy. His passion for Princeton and our program is undeniable as is the stability he has provided. A special thanks to Mike as this marks the 11th class we have built together. I am incredibly grateful for his consistent and tireless dedication to identify and recruit the very best student-athletes across the country and beyond. Â
"After spending some time with our incoming Class of 2030 during their spring visit to campus, Chris, Mike and I are even more excited to see what this collection of personalities and talent will bring to the university. Tori, Gianna, Mariana, Blane, Stella, and Lewa have already established a noticeable connection, which we hope will pay immediate dividends as they acclimate to life away from the comfort of their respective homes. Between the six of them, every field player position has been addressed. It is a class of versatility, athleticism, technical proficiency, a hunger to compete and an immense desire to represent Princeton. Their qualities will blend nicely with our talented group of returners. We cannot wait to officially welcome them on August 5 when we begin our preseason preparations."

Camporeale on Princeton: I chose Princeton because I grew up in New Jersey and it was always a dream to me. I would frequently travel to Princeton and it was my favorite destination from an early age. Playing for Princeton Soccer means the world to me. Being able to be part of such an amazing program and represent one of the most prestigious schools in the country is truly going to be a surreal experience. I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity and join such a welcoming family and I cannot wait for the next four years!
Who is your hero and why are they your hero?
My hero is my Dad. My Dad is the epitome of working hard to earn what you get. He knows how to balance being thrown the struggles of everyday life and making sure to show my siblings and I how much he loves us. My Dad embodies the qualities of determination, support, and empathy. Along with being my hero, he is my role-model. He teaches me everything I need to know about being a confident young woman. He works extremely hard to allow me to pursue my dreams. Because of him, I feel excited and prepared for these next four years at college. I hope to be half the person my Dad is as I emotionally and personally develop in my years at Princeton. Although I am going to be spending time away from my parents for school, I always know I have their support and love in everything I do.
Driscoll on Camporeale: Gianna jumped onto our radar at a summer camp a few years ago. Her combination of speed, athleticism, and a tireless work rate stood out immediately and it has not wavered since that day. We love her energy and desire to impact the game with and without the ball. Gianna has the courage to go at players 1 v 1 repeatedly and, at the same time, has the mentality to be the first line of defense as well. Her awareness and intentionality in transitional defending moments are precisely what we demand of our wide players.

McElroy on Princeton: Everything happens for a reason. There is a photo of an itty bitty 10-year-old version of me at my very first college camp, standing in an oversized Princeton Soccer pinny and that infamous Nike ninja headband many of us once sported. For those familiar with my journey, it has admittedly been one with unexpected twists and turns. A path leading me to the ultimate destination. Princeton. I chose Princeton for all the typical reasons - its prestigious academics, the diverse community of like-minded students, the beautiful campus, and of course soccer. From the moment that 10-year-old me stepped on campus to my very first phone call with Coach Sean and interactions with Coach Mike, Coach Chris and the entire team on my official visit, Princeton just felt like home. Offering a unique culture emphasizing player and personal development in the transfer portal era. A possession-based style of play that will allow me to reach my full potential as a player. My decision was reaffirmed when I came back to campus last summer to meet and train with my class. Each of us possesses a relentless and gritty mentality, pushing each other every day as people, students and players. I am incredibly blessed to have the privilege of growing and playing with these girls at Princeton. It has the little girl inside of me jumping up and down with joy. A home I would wait a year - maybe even a lifetime - for. Go Tigers!
Who is your hero and why are they your hero?
My mom is my hero. The same with my dad. Both from a small town in Indiana, making the most of every opportunity they had to give me and my sister the best life possible. To open doors for us they could only dream of. With a work ethic they exemplified and instilled in me, pushing me to always be the hardest working person in each and every room. I strive to be as dedicated and passionate as my mom, as composed and approachable as my dad. Then there's my little sister, Devin - my Irish twin, my other half. She is also my hero. She has challenged me in every facet of life from a young age, and I wouldn't be where or who I am today without her. My biggest competitor, my biggest supporter. And then my Grandma Jones. Few know me better than her. She is my hero. Someone I can always count on to make me laugh or smile. I want to be as kind, as giving, as intentional as she is. It is impossible for me to choose just one hero. My hero is my family. They have played such an important role in my journey, weathering the ups and downs, always behind me and pushing me forward. They are my rocks, my constants. I am so incredibly grateful for them and all that they have done and continue to do for me.
Driscoll on McElroy: Blane has the lungs, technique, willingness, and IQ to play anywhere on the field. Her insatiable desire to improve has led her to various clubs/environments across the country to challenge herself against top-level players and learn from a variety of coaches. That curiosity and intense desire to hone her craft is her superpower and will ensure she is not fazed by the transition to college. Blane can influence the game on both sides of the ball due to her boundless energy. She can score goals in a variety of ways, provide assists, and – equally important – create havoc with her defensive intensity and prowess.

#5 Mariana Gomez

Â
Gomez on Princeton:Â I chose Princeton because it's one of the few places where you can compete at the highest level both athletically and academically. But honestly, what made the decision easy was the people. From my first conversations with Coach Sean and Coach Mike, I could tell they genuinely care about their players as people, not just athletes. Every time I visited campus and spent time with the team, I felt like I was already a part of the Tiger family. That mix of being competitive but also really close-knit is exactly the environment I want to push myself in. To me, playing for Princeton Women's Soccer means being someone my teammates can rely on, giving everything I have to something bigger than myself, and growing not just as a player, but as a person.
Who is your hero and why are they your hero?
My hero is my cousin Claire Nussbaum '19, who also played volleyball at Princeton. I have always looked up to her as a role model. I admire her devotion to athletics, academics, and public service. She is in her final year of medical school and has successfully matched into an emergency medicine residency program. I'm inspired by her work ethic and desire to make the world a better place.
Driscoll on Gomez: Mariana brings a unique skill set to our backline. While she typically features as a wide back, her technical qualities, guile, and mindset are reminiscent of an attacking midfielder. Because of her comfort on the ball and ability to navigate tight spaces, Mariana will bring calm in situations that often elicit the opposite reaction. Defensively she takes great pride in her individual duels and has mastered the lost art of slide tackling. On either side of the ball, she will surely present a swagger and an energy that we can all appreciate.

White on Princeton: Princeton has been my dream for as long as I can remember – though to my five-year-old self, it felt more like a distant fairytale. Seeing that dream realized feels both surreal and deeply meaningful. As I got older, I came to see Princeton in a more nuanced way: not just as a place of prestige, but as a community defined by its rare combination of history, academic rigor, and spirit. The soccer program felt even more special. Through camps, games, and conversations with Coach Sean and Mike, I saw that Princeton soccer is, at its core, a group of women united by grit and a collective competitive fire – impressive and accomplished, but grounded and real. Between its dominance in the Ivy League, its world-class facilities, and a culture that feels as much like a family as a team, choosing Princeton felt instinctive. I'm excited to be a part of a program that both demands and inspires that level of commitment, resilience, and energy every day.
Who is your hero and why are they your hero?
My dad is my hero – a paragon of work ethic and integrity. While he's earned an impressive litany of accomplishments as both a soccer player and businessman, what I seek to emulate most about him is his character. Humble, honest, and relentless, my dad dedicates himself wholeheartedly to whatever task is at hand – whether that means flying around the country to watch me and my five siblings at our soccer events, managing a crisis at work, cracking seriously unfunny dad jokes in a tense moment, or simply being there to listen. I've never met someone so utterly selfless. He is both my family's glue and my hero – a rare example of someone who balances career achievement with genuine character. I hope to develop a fraction of his wisdom, grit, reason, and compassion. There's no one whose opinion I value more.
Driscoll on White: Lewa brings a great deal of personality and substance to our team. She has the ability to influence the game in multiple ways – her non-stop engine, range of passing, and, perhaps the most important, a pride in imposing herself defensively. Lewa never backs down from a challenge and that mentality galvanizes those around her. She has the rare quality to bring chaos to an opposition with her defensive intensity and, simultaneously, provides calm in possession with her technical proficiency. Her passion for the game and desire to improve is infectious and will be a welcome addition to our team.

Â
Adams on Princeton: I chose Princeton because of the balance of high academics and high athletic standards. I fell in love with the school on my first visit. I want to have an opportunity to grow in a community that fosters excellence and allows me to pursue a career beyond the classroom. I want to contribute to the legacy while also continually growing on and off the field. I'm also drawn to the team environment where everyone holds each other accountable and pushes each other because I know I will grow best in this type of environment.
Who is your hero and why are they your hero?
My parents are my heroes because of the constant strength and love that they have shown. They have always helped push me to be the best version of myself and always made sure they did whatever they could to help me be successful. They have also always fostered a loving and supportive environment built upon strong relationships, trust, and encouragement. Their support and love has allowed me to learn the importance of hard work, resilience, and staying grounded in who I am.
Driscoll on Adams: Tori caught our eye immediately with her composure and technique under pressure. Her unflappable nature offers a calming presence/influence in the backline. As a possession-based center back with excellent vision, she can play a variety of line breaking passes into midfield or the front line. That skill set will be invaluable in navigating teams that either high press or sit in a mid-block. In addition, she is a very good individual defender that can cover a ton of ground and knows how to effectively use her frame and height to her advantage.

Â
Monberg on Princeton: I chose Princeton because of its mix of exceptional academics, high-level soccer, and welcoming community. From the moment I arrived on campus and met the team and coaches, I felt that Princeton was a place where I could grow both as a player and as a person while continuing to pursue the sport I love. The entire team was so friendly and energetic throughout my visit. I was initially nervous to be with the team before a game, but as soon as they began their lively pre-game routines I knew Princeton was where I wanted to be. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this program. I do my best when I have friends around me pushing me to improve, and I am honored to be a part of a group that is so supportive and high achieving. I am so excited to be a part of this team and community!
Who is your hero and why are they your hero?
My younger sister is my hero. She is the most competitive person I know, and she never gets discouraged by any challenge. Whether it's a swim meet or a race for who can get the best seat during dinner, she faces every competition with a positive attitude and focuses on her successes rather than her defeats. She has taught me how to persevere when things aren't going the way I planned, and I admire her strength, kindness, and imagination every day.
Driscoll on Monberg: The first time we saw Stella she was holding off two center backs and somehow turned and smashed a ball in the goal from a difficult angle – creating one of those moments you never forget. Her technique in back to pressure situations is exceptional. She has the skill set to bring midfielders into the game and also possesses the aforementioned – and less common – awareness to seal and spin off overly aggressive opponents. Stella is a lethal finisher that can create opportunities off the dribble or with her sharp movement and IQ in the penalty area.
