PRINCETON, N.J. - Princeton fell 3-1 to No. 25-ranked Richmond Friday night in the opening round of the Wachovia Classic.
The Spiders held a 2-0 halftime lead and scored their final goal of the night in the 57th minute of play. Freshman Theresa Sherry got Princeton on the board off an assist from senior Amee Reyes with seven minutes remaining in the game. It was Sherry's team leading fifth goal of the year.
The Tigers (7-2, 3-0 Ivy) will play American at noon on Sunday. American lost 3-2 in double overtime to Radford Friday afternoon. Radford will play Richmond for the title Sunday evening.
Princeton returns home on Friday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 against Brown.
