CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Princeton men's track team keeps on rolling. The Tigers finished first at this weekend's Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet with a total of 79 points. Harvard was second with 50 points and Yale had 42 points.
Princeton had eight winners on the day. Liam Morton (So., Manhassett, N.Y.) won the 35 lb. weight with a toss of 56' 0". Co-captain Scott Denbo (Jr., Nashville, Tenn.) took the shot put crown with a mark of 57' 7". Jonathan Jessup (Jr., Bryan, Texas) won the pole vault with a height of 16' 3", only two inches shy of his top vault from last season. The long jump was won by talented freshman Javius Wynn (Mechanicsville, Va.) with a leap of 22' 6".
Princeton also dominated on the track. Cameron Atkinson (Fr., West Deptford, N.J.) won the 60 meters with time of 6.92. Co-captain John Mack (Sr., New Haven, Mich.) won the 500 meters with a time of 1:03.22 and Seamus Whelton (So., Glydon, Md.) won the 1000 meters with a time of 2:27.14. Super sophomore Paul Morrison (Chatham, Ont.), the star of the cross country season, won the 3000 meters with a time of 8:14.0
Princeton finishes with a dual meet record of 2-3 (2-0 Ivy) an hosts the Princeton Invitational next weekend in Jadwin Gym. Next weekend's meet is a final tune up for the Tigers' shot at the second leg of a third straight triple crown at the Heptagonal Championships. The Heps take place on Feb. 26-27 at Dartmouth.
