PRINCETON, N.J. - With the 1999-2000 women's basketball season complete, senior captains claim the first post-season honors, as Kate Thirolf (Rockville, Md.) and Maggie Langlas (Missoula, Mont.) earned All-Ivy accolades for the third consecutive year. Thirolf was named to the first team, while Langlas was named honorable mention.
The program's only three-time captain, Thirolf led the Tigers in scoring (10.6 ppg) and rebounding (5.9 rpg) this season. She led the team with 61 assists this season, giving her 205 in her four years, and tallied 29 steals. Last December Thirolf became the 13th Tiger to reach the 1,000-point plateau for her career, and she will graduate with 1,174 points, placing her eighth all-time at Princeton. The Rockville native finished her career in the Top 10 of seven offensive categories in the Princeton record book, including third all-time in career three-pointers made (172) and first in three-pointers attempted (542). She was named to the Ivy League All-Rookie team as a freshman and found herself on the All-Ivy first team as a sophomore. After recording 302 points and 200 rebounds, Thirolf was named second-team All-Ivy last season. Langlas earned honorable mention All-Ivy accolades this season after averaging 10.5 points per game, second on the team behind Thirolf. She led the team with 294 overall points and 45 steals. She logged more minutes than any other Tiger (918) and started 26 of 28 games this season. Langlas also reached the grand mark for career scoring on a three-pointer against Fairfield--the same game Thirolf hit No. 1,000. She finished her career with 1,188 points, good for seventh place on the all-time scoring list. Her name is etched in the Princeton record book in numerous sections, including three-point field goals attempted (184, fourth) and career free-throw percentage (.769, second). Like Thirolf, Langlas was named to the Ivy League All-Rookie team as a freshman. She earned second-team honors as a sophomore and then took home first-team honors as a junior.
