Comeback Tigers Do It Again! Women's Basketball Rallies To Defeat Seton Hall, 82-78

PRINCETON – The Princeton Women's Basketball Team rallied from 14 down in the first half to defeat the Seton Hall Pirates, 82-78, at Jadwin Gym on Tuesday evening.
Seton Hall ran out with the first six points and eventually doubled up Princeton, 18-9, six minutes into the game. The Tigers closed the gap to three, before settling with a 22-15 deficit after 10 minutes.
The Pirates stretched their advantage to 14, 34-20, before the Tigers ripped off a 21-7 push to make it a one-point game, 42-41. Princeton trailed 45-43 at halftime.
After a bucket from Madison St. Rose tied the contest, two free throws from Fadima Tall gave the home team its first lead, 49-47, at the eight-minute mark of the third quarter.
Tied at 51-all, Seton Hall made a run this time, scoring 11 of 13, to go back in front by nine, 62-53, with 3:27 left in the third stanza. The Pirates would go onto lead 65-60 as the fourth frame began.
An Olivia Hutcherson bucket put Princeton back ahead, 70-69, with 6:15 to go, but a three from Zahara Bishop put Seton Hall on top, 73-72.
The two teams exchanged leads before this Skye Belker trey put the home team in front for good …
Following three free throws, a make from Seton Hall's Savannah Catalon made it an 80-78 game with a minute to go. After a Pirate turnover, Taylor Charles hit two from the charity stripe to put the contest away.
Head coach Carla Berube's team had four players in double figures led by Belker's 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting. St. Rose contributed 19 points, nine rebounds, while Ashley Chea had 15 points and six dimes. Tall had 12 points in the victory.
The Tigers have now won five of six meetings against Seton Hall in the Berube era.
Princeton is 8-1 overall and handed Seton Hall its first loss (4-1). The Tigers head to Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday (Dec. 6) to take on the Belmont Bruins. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m. (1 p.m. CT).
