PRINCETON - The Princeton Women's Basketball Team heads on the road to take on the Belmont Bruins on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. (1 pm CT).Â
•The Tigers rallied from 14 down in the first half to defeat the Seton Hall Pirates, 82-78, at Jadwin Gym on Tuesday evening.
•A three-pointer from Skye Belker with 3:51 to go put the Tigers in front of the Pirates for good.
•Following three free throws, a make from Seton Hall's Savannah Catalon made it an 80-78 game with a minute to go. After a Pirate turnover, Taylor Charles hit two from the charity stripe to put the contest away.
•Head coach Carla Berube's team had four players in double figures led by Belker's 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting. Madison St. Rose contributed 19 points, nine rebounds, while Ashley Chea had 15 points and six dimes. Fadima Tall had 12 points in the victory.
•Princeton is 8-1 season and is on a six-game winning streak. The Tigers are No. 1 in the College Insider Women's Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
•The last time Princeton was No. 1 in the poll was in Nov. of 2023. South Dakota State had been the No.1 team in the previous 15 polls. South Dakota State, James Madison, Troy and Ball State round out the top five.
•St. Rose leads the Tigers in scoring at 17.2 points, while averaging 6.2 rebounds per contest. The senior captain has three 20+ point games along with two double-doubles. She is 71 points shy of 1,000 in her career.
•The Tigers have three others averaging double figures in scoring in Belker (15.3), Tall (14.9) and Chea (11.2). Olivia Hutcherson is just short of that benchmark at 9.6.
•Princeton is shooting 44.4 percent this season while also shooting 34.5 percent from deep. Belker (51.5 percent overall and 45.9 percent from three). Tall (44.8 percent overall and from three), Hutcherson (50.8 percent overall) and St. Rose (47.0 percent overall) are all shooting career highs.
•Over the last five games, Belker is averaging 19.0 points per game on 60.7 percent shooting (34-56) while shooting 56.0 percent from deep (14-25). She has also hit all 13 free throws during this stretch.
•Chea is averaging 14.2 points while shooting 36.8 percent from the three-point line on 7.6 attempts per game along with 4.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds during the same stretch.
•In the four games before, the junior was only averaging 7.5 points, 2.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds per contest.
•The Tigers have a strength of schedule that is the fifth best in the country (.647) according to warrennolan.com. Princeton's opponents are 46-18 overall (.718).
•The only teams with a higher SOS are Southern, Texas Southern, Alabama State and UCLA.
•Princeton has a net ranking of 32, the highest mark by a non-power four conference team.
•Princeton has a quad 1 victory (at Villanova) and has three quad two wins in Penn State, Rhode Island and Seton Hall.
•The Tigers have had two players earn Ivy Player of the Week in Belker (Nov. 24) and Tall (Nov. 17). Tall also corralled Ann Meyers Drysdale USBWA National Player of the Week after the Georgia Tech game.
