November 26, 2025 | Women's Basketball
KINGSTON – A 16-1 fourth quarter run pushed the Princeton Women's Basketball Team over the Rhode Island Rams, 67-59, at the Ryan Center on Wednesday afternoon.
A three-pointer by Rhode Island's Palmire Mbu put the home team ahead, 55-50, with 6:04 to go in the game.
Princeton proceeded to score on the next six possessions to flip the game around and go in front, 63-56, as the clock ticked under 90 seconds.
This Skye Belker AND-1 started the rally …
Belker recorded back-to-back buckets to put the Tigers in front for good, 59-55. Princeton hit six from the free throw line to put the contest away. The road squad shot 8-of-11 from the floor in the fourth stanza (72.8 percent) while allowing just one bucket over the final six minutes of game action.
Madison St. Rose led all scorers with 21 points, adding a career-high 13 rebounds while Fadima Tall also contributed a double-double with 19 points and 12 caroms. Those two combined to finish even with Rhode Island in rebounds (25-25).
In front, 11-10, Princeton registered a 7-2 run to go up five, 17-12, with 7:01 left in the first half. Rhode Island answered with six straight to jump ahead, 18-17, but an Olivia Hutcherson basket gave the Tigers an 23-22 lead at halftime.
Head coach Carla Berube's squad led by as many as six in the third stanza before both teams went into the fourth frame tied at 43-all.
Princeton improves to 6-1 overall while Rhode Island dropped to 6-2 this season. This is the first road win for either team in this matchup since the two non-conference foes started scheduling each other in 2021.
The Tigers welcome DePaul to Jadwin Gym on Sunday (Nov. 30). Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
