Women's Basketball Stands Tall In 81-63 Victory over Rutgers
December 10, 2025 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON – Behind a career-high 28 points from Fadima Tall, the Princeton Women's Basketball Team took down the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 81-63, at Jadwin Gym.
After Princeton scored the first five points of the game, Rutgers ripped off seven straight to force a timeout from Carla Berube.
Skye Belker's three-pointer put the home team back in front, 13-12, at the 2:54 mark of the frame. A trey from Tall gave Princeton a 21-19 advantage after 10 minutes.
Ashley Chea's bucket from beyond the arc stretched the home team's lead to eight, 31-23, at the clock ticked under halfway through the second quarter. Princeton eventually led 36-31Â at halftime. Tall hit nine free throws during that stretch and finished with 18 first-half points.
Two from the charity stripe for Olivia Hutcherson extended the Tigers' advantage to seven, 51-44, as the fourth stanza got underway.
A five-point burst by Chea to begin the frame made Rutgers call timeout. Rutgers hit two shots from deep in three possessions, but treys from Madison St. Rose and Tall kept the road squad at bay.
The Scarlet Knights got within 12 with 5:12 to go, but the Tigers used a 12-4 sprint to push their lead to 20 and put the game out of reach.
Tall's 28 points came on 7-of-14 shooting. She was also a team-best +21 in the victory. Hutcherson (16), Chea (16) and St. Rose (11) also scored in double figures.
Â
Princeton has won eight straight games and is now 10-1 overall while Rutgers dropped to 7-4 this season. The Tigers will head on the road to take on George Mason on Dec. 20. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
