Chea's Game-Winner Gives Princeton Thrilling Victory Over George Mason, 71-69

FAIRFAX – Ashley Chea's bucket with two seconds left in overtime proved to be the game-winner as the Princeton Women's Basketball Team rallied to take down the George Mason Patriots, 71-69, at EagleBank Arena.
Down seven with 25 seconds to go, Skye Belker made 1-of-2 from the charity stripe after a flagrant foul from George Mason. Madison St. Rose was then fouled and hit three free throws to get within three, 63-60.
On the next possession, Princeton forced a jump ball and got the ball. St. Rose missed the triple, but Toby Nweke cleaned up the offensive board and got the And-1 …
Nweke sank the free throw, and Patriots couldn't convert which forced overtime.
Trailing by five in the extra session, buckets from Belker and Chea got the road team within a point, 68-67, as the clock ticked under a minute.
Another CLUTCH basket from Nweke gave the road squad the advantage with 10 seconds to go.

George Mason was held without a basket in overtime.
St. Rose's three-pointer gave Princeton a 16-13 lead after 10 minutes of action. A 9-2 push extended the Tigers lead to 11, 34-23, with 2:03 to go in the first half. Princeton settled with a 34-27 advantage at halftime.
The Tigers scored the first seven points of the second half to push their lead to 14, 41-27, forcing a George Mason timeout. The Patriots registered seven straight to wrap up the stanza, making it a 45-41 game.
George Mason's run continued as the fourth frame started as it ran off 15 of 19 to go up seven, 56-49. They maintained that lead until Princeton's rally to end regulation.
St. Rose's 19 points led all scorers. Olivia Hutcherson contributed Tigers with 17 points, adding seven rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists. Belker and Chea had 11 points each in the win.
Princeton improves to 11-1 overall while George Mason drops to 6-6 this season. The Tigers wrap up non-conference action with a home contest vs. Temple on Monday. Tip-off is set for 11:30 a.m.
