Track Team Scores Several First-Place Finishes

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Princeton women's track and field team competed at the Penn Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. Princeton posted several first-place finishes in the 20-plus team event.
Shawneequa Callier (Sr., New York, N.Y.) and Rebecca Desman (Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished 1-2 in the high jump. Callier cleared the bar at 5' 6" and Desman cleared 5' 4 1/4". Nikola Holmes (Fr., Apple Valley, Minn.) finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 17' 9 3/4". Natalie Deffenbaugh (So., Maplewood, N.J.) finished first in the 800 meters with a time of 2:12.60. Princeton placed two runners in the top 10 of the 1,500 meters. Megan Kennedy (So., Rockville, Center, N.Y.) finished in 4:52.22 and Mattie Godzala (So., Little Falls, Minn.) timed in at 4:53.59.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 15 in a dual meet at Yale with Penn.
