Men's Cross Country Places Second At Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton men's cross country team finished second behind perennial national strength Oklahoma State in their home opener at the Princeton Battlefield. The Tigers defeated regional power Fairleigh Dickinson, La Salle and The College of New Jersey completing the weekend with a 3-1 record. The women's team won the double dual meet at the battlefield against La Salle and The College of New Jersey.
Leading the way for Old Nassau was senior Tensai Asfaw with a fourth place finish, completing the five mile course in 24 minutes, 39.8 seconds. His time ranks him second all-time on the top performance list at the battlefield. Rounding out the next top five for Princeton were junior Wes Stockard (25:04.6) in eighth place, senior Alex Hallett (25:10.3) in 14th place followed by senior Pat Anglin (25:12.7) in 15th and freshman Tristan Colangelo (25:31) in 21st place.
Freshman Tiger Emily Kroshus won the women's race with a time of 17:58, placing her fourth all-time on the top performance list at the battlefield. Junior Emily Eynon (18:22) finished third followed by junior Catherine Casey (18:27) in fourth, freshman Pilar Marin (18:34) in fifth and freshman Liz Morse (18:37) in sixth place. The women's team is now 1-1. Princeton cross country returns to action on Sept. 30 at the Iona Invitational in Van Courtlandt , N.Y.
