Men's Cross Country Set For NCAA Championships on Saturday

PRINCETON, N.J. – Looking to close out a season of dominant success, capped off with an NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional win and a fifth-consecutive Ivy Heps title, the Princeton men's cross country team will compete in the NCAA Championships in Columbia, Mo. on Saturday.Â
Last weekend, the Tigers competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals, going 2-4-5-15-19, the Tigers boasted a team score of 45 to best second-place Georgetown with 63.
Continuing a string of top performances, Myles Hogan was the top Tiger finisher, taking second place as he crossed the 10k finish line in 29:21.2. Making his move, Hogan passed eight runners between 5k and 8k.
At Heps, Hogan claimed individual victory as he cruised to first place in a pack of one, clocking in at 23:26.4 for the third-best Heps championship time in league history and a new Van Cortlandt Heps course record.
He took first place by 48 seconds, Â and, in addition to running the fastest time at the course, he was just the third Heps runner ever to break 24:00 at Van Cortlandt.
Sophomore Jacob Nenow was behind Hogan at Regionals, taking fourth place with a time of 29:35.8. He has been strong for the Tigers all season, claiming first place at the Iona Paddy Doyle meet.
Jackson Shorten, Sebastian Martinez and Hayden Boaz rounded out the Tiger scorers as they punched their ticket to NCAAs. Boaz, a first-year, made a net gain of 51 runners throughout the race to take 19th.Â
In The Rankings
Princeton was ranked 18th in the latest USTFCCCA poll. The Tigers continue to hold the top spot in the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings.
