Men's Cross Country Competes at Heptagonal Championships

New York, N.Y. - Wes Stockard (Sr., Knoxville, Tenn.) led the Tigers to a 3rd place at the 2001 Cross Country Heptagonal Championships. Stockard crossed the finish line at 25:07.2 and placed sixth in the individual standings. The race was held in Van Cortlandt Park in New York, N.Y. Lead by McArdle, who ran the course in 24:45.5 and placed first in the individual standings, Dartmouth captured the Heps title with a team score 60.
After capturing the title nine years in a row, this is the second consecutive time in 11 years that the Tigers failed to capture the Championships. Jon Bell (Jr., Raleigh, N.C.) ran the course in 25:13.3 and finished just behind Stockard in seventh place. Ryan Teising (So., Naperville, Ill.) crossed the finish line at 25:41.7 in 12th place. Last year Princeton finished in second place at the meet
