Men's Cross Country Places Second at Iona Meet of Champions

Bronx N.Y. - Wes Stockard's sixth place finish at the 2001 Paddy Doyle Iona Meet of Champions helped the Tigers finish second in the team standings. In all, 25 teams competed in this year's Iona Meet of Champions. The Tigers finished with a score of 81, a mere 12 points behind the championship team from Dartmouth. The meet was held in Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, New York.
Stockard, who crossed the finish line with a time of 25:06.1 led the Tigers with a six-place finish. Stockard was 23.2 seconds behind the first place finisher, Tom McArdle of Dartmouth. Also finishing strong for the Tigers was Jon Bell who crossed at 25:18.1 and finished in 10th place and Ryan Teising who finished at 25:23.7 earning a 12th place finish.
The Tigers will travel to Lehigh on October 6, 2001 for the Paul Short Invitational
