Canton, N.Y. - Nikola Holmes found her sister, Annamarie Holmes for the Tigers first goal of the evening, as Princeton went on to beat St. Lawrence 3-1 in ECAC action. With the win Princeton improves to 7-2-2, 3-0-0 ECAC. St. Lawrence falls to 7-4-2, 3-2-0 ECAC.
Annamarie Holmes scored her third goal of the year to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead at 6:26 in the first period. Nikola Holmes was the lone Tiger credited with the assist. In less than one minute and a half, Andrea Kilbourne put the Tigers up 2-0 when she beat St. Lawrence goalie Rachel Barrie at 7:41. Gretchen Anderson and Annamarie Holmes were credited with the assists on the power play goal. Emilie Berlinguette of St. Lawrence had been whistled for roughing at 7:29 Tarah Clark scored in the second period at 15:11 on a pass from Angela Gooldy as the Tigers increased their lead to 3-0. Clark, who scored only one goal in the Tigers first nine games this season, has scored one in each of Princeton's last two. Princeton has also gotten an offense boost with the return of Anderson, this past week's ECAC Player of the Week. With the assist tonight, Anderson has recorded seven points in five games this season.
St. Lawrence got on the board at 16:24 in the second period when Chera Marshall scored on a pass from Shannon Smith.
Megan Van Beusekom recorded 36 saves for the Tigers including 23 in the third period; Barrie tallied 20 in the loss.
Princeton will face St. Lawrence again, tomorrow, Saturday December 7 at 4:00 p.m.
