Women's Lightweight Team Places Second At San Diego Crew Classic

San Diego, Calif. - The Princeton University women's lightweight crew team opened the 2002 season with a second-place finish at the 29th San Diego Crew Classic in California on Sunday morning.
The preliminary race saw the Tigers finished 24 seconds ahead of second-place Queens and 33 seconds ahead of third place UC-San Diego. California took third in 7:53.17 and UC Irvine wrapped up the race with a time of 8:15.92.
In the A.W. Coggeshall Cup final, however, Princeton came in second, crossing the finish line in 6:56.08. Wisconsin won the race with a time of 6:52.15
Princeton returns to the East coast and will compete at the Knecht Cup in Camden, N.J. next Saturday, April 13.
