HANOVER, N.H. - Senior Kellie Cramm had 19 kills while junior Alex Brown had 14, but it was a 37-dig effort by freshman libero Jenny McReynolds that led the Princeton women's volleyball team to a 3-1 Friday night at Dartmouth. Princeton, which has now won a season-best four matches in a row, moves to 3-1 in the Ivy League.
Princeton took the first game by running off six straight points to break a 16-16 tie and then holding off a late rally for a 30-27 win. Following a 30-25 win for the Tigers in the second game, Dartmouth rallied for a 30-19 win in the third game, but the Tigers bounced back for a 30-27 win to close the match.
Jenny Senske led the Princeton offense with 54 assists and added three kills in seven swings. Lauren Grumet struggled hitting the ball, killing seven balls while recording 10 errors, but her strong serving led Princeton to a decisive run in the third game. Cramm, the former Ivy League Rookie of the Year, was her usual dominant self with 19 kills and 22 digs, but it was freshman teammate McReynolds with the eye-catching stat of the match. Her 37 digs is by far a season high for any Princeton player.
Princeton will take on Harvard Saturday at 4 p.m. The Crimson took defending Ivy champion Penn five games before falling 3-2. Princeton will need to defeat Harvard to keep pace with Cornell (5-0) and Harvard (4-0)
