New York, N.Y. - The Princeton men's cross country team placed second at the 2003 IC4A Crown today at the 95th Annual IC4A Cross Country Championship at Van Cortlandt Park earlier today. James Madison took first place with 71 points, Princeton had 86 points to place second and Penn State took home third place honors with 112 points.
The race was won by Yale's Casey Moriarty in a time of 24:58 on the 5-mile course. Princeton's top finisher was sophomore John Basler in sixth. Behind him Frank Macreery and Peter Cioni made it three Tigers in the top 10 as they finished eighth and ninth repectively with times of 25:24 and 25:29. Senior Dan Mackenzie was the next Tiger in 35th (26:08). Sophomore Eric Beights was 42nd (26:15), sophomore Ben Stern was 45th, freshman Paul Rosa was 47th (26:18), senior Ryan Teising was 49th (26:19).
Senior Tristan Colangelo, who will compete in the NCAA Championships on Monday ran 66th (26:69), freshman Jeff Byrne was 77th (26:55). Junior Dan Antalics was 88th (27:07).
