The Princeton men's indoor track team began its 2003-04 season at the New Year's Invitational at Jadwin Gym Sunday, and four Tiger individual athletes won their respective events at the meet.
Junior Mike Kopp finished first in the 500-meter dash in a time of 1:05.54, while Tiger freshman Ken Sinkovitz was close behind in third place. Freshman Richard Stewart's time of 50.30 in the 400-meter race was also good for first place in that event.
In the field events, junior Mike Weishun of Princeton and Monmouth's Guy Jackson tied for top honors with a jump of 6 feet, 9 inches (2.06 meters). Princeton freshman Andrew Park won the pole vault event by clearing 15 feet, 5 inches (4.70 meters). Penn's Nel Wojdowski came in second place in that event at 15 feet, 1 inch.
The Tiger 4X400 meter relay teams also swept the first two spots in that race ahead of third-place Monmouth.
The indoor track teams next compete after the New Year, hosting Navy at Jadwin Gym Jan. 10.
