Men's Track Performs Well At Armory Invitational

The Princeton indoor track and field team, led by its distance medley team, made a strong showing at the Armory Invitational this weekend. The distance medley team earned a win, while two other Princeton performers grabbed second-place finishes.
On Friday, Princeton's distance medley team earned victory in a time of 9:43.08, topping second-place Georgetown (9:44.33).
Josh McCaughey placed second in the weight throw with a distance of 19.19 m. Purdue's Scott Heck won with a throw of 19.70 m. Two Tigers placed in the top eight, as Mark Smith had a throw of 16.14 m.
Princeton also had two top-8 finishers in the 5000-meter race. Jeff DiChiara placed seventh in a time of 14:50.05, while David Silver placed eighth in 15:00.16.
In Saturday's competition, Jonathan Bell placed third in the 3000-meter race in a time of 8:12.51, five seconds behind the winning time of Villanova's Tom Parlapiano (8:07.13).
Marcus Ford-Bey placed second in thr triple jump with a leap of 14.05 m. Texas' Tim Brown won with a jump of 14.64 m.
Princeton's 4x400 relay team placed sixth in 3:16.78.
Kyle Whitaker and Javius Wynn each placed 14th in the pole vault.
