Durham, N.C. - Oklahoma State scored four times in the seventh inning to snap a tie game as the Cowboys defeated Princeton 6-3 at Durham Bulls Park Saturday afternoon.
Oklahoma State improved to 11-6, while Princeton fell to 1-6, 1-3 on its early spring break trip. The Tigers play UNC Wilmington and North Carolina State Sunday.
Princeton's Ross Ohlendorf struck out nine in fives innings while allowing one earned run and walking three but did not figure in the decision.
Oklahoma State scored an unearned run in the second inning, but Princeton tied it in the top of the third on Jon Miller's RBI single. After OSU took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third, Princeton evened it again in the fifth on B.J. Symanski's RBI single.
The game stayed 2-2 into the seventh, when the key rally started with two out and nobody on base. From that point, five straight Cowboys reached base, using a hit batter, three walks, one error and one hit to score four times and take control.
Princeton's Tim Lahey hit a home run in the ninth for the final run.
