Petrillo, Bell Earn Victories In First Night Of Sam Howell Invitational

Petrillo was the lone winner for the women, winning the steeplechase in 10:59.84. The other women's race was the 5,000 meters, which was won by Beth Vesey of The College of New Jersey (17:50.68). The top Princeton finisher in the race was Kate Moore, who placed fourth in 18:11.87.
Bell took the 5,000 meters in a time of 14:19.96, barely edging out Manhattan's Matt Spring (14:20.00). Jonathan Kieliszak gave Princeton a second top-five finisher, placing fifth in a time of 14:33.10. The Tigers also had two top-five finishers in the 10,000 meters, as Austin Smith placed fourth in 30:38.12, and Jeff DiChiara placed fifth in 30:38.90. Joshua Ordway took third as the top Princeton finisher in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:09.48).
Competition will resume Saturday at 11 a.m. with the women's 400-meter hurdles and the men's hammer throw.
