Open Women Sweep Rutgers, Columbia On Raritan River
April 05, 2003 | Women's Rowing - Open
April 5, 2003
The Princeton open crew went 5-for-5 on the Raritan River, sweeping each race Saturday against Rutgers and Columbia. The first varsity eight, which last weekend topped Brown and Michigan at home, won in 6:53.0, the lone sub-7:00 performance of the regatta.
The Tigers made sure any of the momentum it built last weekend didn't go away, finishing close to 10 seconds faster than Columbia in the first varsity race. The second varsity eight and the varsity four boats also cruised to victory.
Princeton's two novice boats earned their first collegiate wins on the Raritan, as both won by at least 12 seconds apiece.
The open women will return home to Lake Carnegie to take on Cornell, Harvard and Wisconsin next weekend.
