Cross Country, Ausin Smith Earn Academic Distinction

Princeton, N.J. - Princeton sophomore Austin Smith was named to the 2002 U.S. Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team. The engineering major out of Midlothian, Va. joins Princeton's cross country team on this season's academic squads.
The Tigers placed on this year's All-Academic squad with a team grade-point average of 3.264. Coach Mike Brady's lineup of 26 athletes was more than any other school on the list and Princeton was one of two Ivy schools to make the team with distinction. Yale was the other.
Smith was Princeton's top finisher at the 2002 NCAA Regional Championships. He placed 14th overall to help the Tigers finish third as a team.
