The Princeton men's indoor track & field team had several impressive performances at the 2004 Princeton Relays Saturday at Jadwin Gym, winning the event by over 100 points over second-place Howard.
The Tiger distance medley teams swept the first three spots in that race, finishing within eight seconds of each other and each qualifying for the IC4A meet later in the season. Princeton also won the 3,200-meter relay by nearly nine seconds over a team from Mount Saint Mary's and finished a close second to Howard in the 4X400 relay event.
Junior Justin Reed ran a time of 49.47 to win the 400 meter dash for Princeton early in the day. Miler John Basler led a strong Tiger contingent in the mile later on, winning the race in a time of 4:15.63 as the Tigers took the top six places. Princeton also took the top five places in the 3,000 meters, with freshman Jeff Bryne winning in a time of 8:48.60.
In the field events, senior Rocky Craley was third in the shot put for the Tigers. Classmate Mark Smith finished a close second in the 35-lb. weight throw with a heave of 17.64 meters.
