Paige Schmidt Named Ivy Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

Paige Schmidt, who scored a second-half goal for Princeton that gave the Tigers a lead against Boston University, has been named the Ivy League Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for games ending Oct. 3.
Schmidt scored on a penalty-corner situation to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead with 10:18 left in the second half. Princeton had trailed 3-0 early in the game before making a comeback that would eventually lead to a 5-4 victory.
Schmidt, whose sister Hillary is also a starter for the Tigers, has scored two goals this season. She leads Princeton in both overall shots (32) and shots on goal (23) this season.
The Tigers (3-7, 2-1 Ivy) return to action this Sunday, Oct. 10, traveling to Virginia for a non-conference game at noon.
