PHILADELPHIA - The men's track team had several strong performances Saturday in a tri-meet with Penn and Villanova at Franklin Field.
Princeton defeated host Penn by a 110.5-80.5 score and defeated Villanova, 119 to 50.
Princeton's Dwaine Banton won both the 100 and 200-meter events, finishing in times of 10.84 and 21.70 respectively. Michael Kopp took the 400 meters for the Tigers in a time of 48.56, while Jeff Key won the 400 hurdles in 54.96.
The Tigers dominated the field events. Mike Weishuhn won the high jump, while Kyle Whitaker was the pole vault winner and Derek Davis took the long jump event. Rocky Craley continued his strong performances by throwing 15.98 meters to win the shot put, while Mark Smith, Ron Stringer, Matt McNamara and Drew Geant took the top four spots in the hammer throw.
