PRINCETON, N.J. - Freshman Meagan Cowher lit up the stats sheets with a career-high 28 points and nine rebounds, as the Tiger defeated Saint Peter's, 67-50, Monday at Jadwin Gym in front of a crowd that included University President Shirley Tilghman.

Junior Becky Brown scored 19 points and also grabbed nine boards, while junior Katy O'Brien chipped in 12 points after connecting on four three-pointers and dealing eight assists in the win. The Tigers immediately jumped out on Saint Peter's with an 11-0 run to start the game. Cowher scored six points during the run, including two turnaround jumpers in the paint.

Princeton increased their lead to 15 following an overthrown alley-up pass to junior Lauren Nestor, who controlled it and drove the baseline for the score.
Saint Peter's, then, went on a 10-2 run and cut the Princeton advantage to 22-15 at the 7:21 mark thanks to two threes from Jessica Baker.
The Tigers regained momentum with just under four minutes to play in the first stanza and led 28-15. Princeton took a 36-19 advantage at halftime following four points from both Brown and Cowher.
The second half opened with an 8-2 run by the Peahens in the first two minutes.

The Peahen's wouldn't let the Tigers rest, as they cut the lead to eight, 43-35, with 12 minutes to play off a jumper by Elyse Siciliano.
Following a 6-2 run by Cowher, Princeton went back up 49-37. Both O'Brien and Saint Peter's Tiffany Jones traded a three on the ensuing plays.
Kristen Hood made two free throws and added a basket to spark something for the Peahens and cut the Tiger lead to eight once again with a little over five minutes to play but Princeton went back up 14 at the 3:29 mark, 60-46.
