Princeton Defeats Navy in Dual Meet in Men's Track, 98.5-81.5

The Princeton men's track team defeated Navy in Annapolis Saturday afternoon by a 98.5-81.5 score.
The Tigers won seven events on the track, led by Dwaine Banton's strong 6.57 performance that won the 55-meter dash. Matt Susan was just behind that time in second place in 6.63. Princeton also won two other sprint races--the 200 meters, where Brian Shields and Marty Talor finished 1-2, and the 400 meters, where Justin Reed just edged Navy's William Ricks for the win in 49.85.
David Nightengale's time of 4:15.25 won the mile run by two seconds over teammate Ben Stern, while, Alexis Tingan and Aaron Reed took the top two spots for Princeton in the 800 meters.
Tiger teams also won both relay events, the 4X400 and 4X800 relays.
In the field events, Kyle Whitaker jumped 15 3 1/4 in the pole vault to win that event. The Tigers also won the triple jump event, getting a jump of 46 2 1/4 from Nick Crumpton.
The Tigers compete in the Princeton Relays in two weeks at Jadwin Gym.
