Sophomore Richard Stewart won the 400 meter hurdles and was part of a meet-record-setting 4X400 relay group to lead the Tigers at the Sam Howell Invitational track meet at the Weaver Track & Field Stadium Saturday.
Stewart (53.93) was the only runner under 54 seconds in his victory in the 400 hurdles. Then, along with Justin Reed, Dan Saltzman and Mike Kopp, Stewart helped Princeton to a 3:11.72 in the 1600-meter relay, a time that qualified the team for IC4A's and busted the previous meet record by more than two seconds.
The Tigers also got a victory in the high jump event, where Mike Weishuhn jumped 6-8 3/4 (2.05 meters), also an IC4A qualifying mark.
Andrew Park finished in a tie for first in the pole vault event, vaulting 16 feet, 7/12 inches to tie with Binghamton's Rory Quiller.
Alexis Tingan finished in second place for the Tigers in IC4A qualifying time in the 800 meters, finishing in 1:50.80, while Tim Edmond and Derek Davis finished in second and third respectively for Princeton in the long jump event.
