Top-Ranked Open Crew Stays Perfect In '05 By Topping Radcliffe, Cornell

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The top-ranked Princeton open crew stayed perfect in 2005 and continued its mastery of Ivy League rivals by sweeping Radcliffe and Cornell Saturday afternoon on the Charles River. Princeton, which didn't lose an Ivy League race last season, improved to 6-0 on the season with the pair of wins.
The Tigers' closest competition in the first varsity race came from Radcliffe. Princeton came in at 6:24.5, while Radcliffe finished 2.3 seconds behind. Both teams finished well ahead of Cornell, which came in at 6:50.0.
Princeton also won the second varsity eight in 6:42.7, while Radcliffe took both 4s and the second novice 8. Cornell won the first novice 8.
Princeton will look to stay perfect in the Ivy League next weekend when it travels to New Haven, Conn., to take on Yale.
