Matheson Named To Hermann Trophy Watch List

Diana Matheson has been named to the Hermann Trophy watch list by the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America. The Hermann Trophy is given by the Missouri Athletic Club to the top men's and women's collegiate soccer players at season's end.
Matheson, a sophomore, was a first-team All-America last year by the NSCAA after helping Princeton to the NCAA Final Four. Matheson was also a first-team All-Ivy League selection and the Ivy League Rookie of the Year.
A preseason first-team All-America by SoccerBuzz Magazine, Matheson is also a member of the Canadian national team. She had seven goals and seven assists last year for 21 points for the 19-3 Tigers.
The Missouri Athletic Club will announce the list of 15 finalists for the Hermann Trophy in November, and that list will later be pared to the three finalists.
