Tigers Sweep Ivy Weekend With 3-1 Win Over Columbia

PRINCETON -- The Princeton women's volleyball team improved to 14-1 overall and 4-1 in the Ivy League with a 3-1 win against Columbia on Saturday afternoon at Dillon Gymnasium.
Three Princeton hitters tallied double-digits in kills, led by Parker Henritze's 26, Sheena Donohue's 19 and Lindsay Ensign's 11. Bailey Robinson provided 57 assists in the win and Emily Turner had 18 digs.
In the opening game, Princeton never trailed en route to a 30-16 win. Princeton broke the game open with a six-point run while Donohue was serving. The Tigers hit .333 in the opening game with 12 kills on 30 attempts while Columbia did not score a point on their attack attempts.
The second game was tighter but Princeton prevailed once again by a 30-25 margin. Columbia led in the game by as many as six points at 19-13, but Princeton rallied to win the game by five points. Princeton hit .298 in the game to Columbia's .128.
In the third game it was Columbia that overcame an early Princeton lead to win the game 30-28. Princeton led by a high of six points at 12-6 and led 25-21 late but a Columbia run with Gabi D'Addario serving swung the score in Columbia's favor.
Princeton was not to be denied however and the Tigers raced out to an early lead in the fourth game on their way to a 30-19 win. Tied at 1-1, a kill from Henritze gave Princeton a lead it would not relinquish. Henritze also closed out the game with a kill, her 26th of the game.
Princeton resumes its schedule next Friday night at 7 p.m., at Brown.
