Volleyball Rolls Over Dartmouth, 3-0
October 28, 2006 | Women's Volleyball
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Holding the visiting Dartmouth women's volleyball team to a zero attack percentage over the first two games, Princeton swept the Big Green 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at Dillon Gym.
The Tigers improved to 7-2 in the Ivy League with five matches to play. Saturday's win avenged one of Princeton's two losses after the Tigers fell in Hanover, N.H., Oct. 6. Next weekend, Princeton hosts co-Ivy leader Yale Friday and Brown Saturday.
Princeton was able to win games one and two, 30-16 and 30-18, respectively, thanks to the Big Green hitting for as many errors as kills in those frames. Meanwhile, the Tigers hit .262 in game one and a match-high .389 in game two. Three Dartmouth players were held to negative hitting percentages, while Nadine Paris and Sandy Barbut led the Big Green with eight kills apiece.
Game three began to look dangerous for the Tigers, who fell behind 5-0 before scoring six straight points to take the lead. Still, Princeton was never able to pull away during the stanza and fell behind as late as 26-24 before scoring six of the last eight points to win, 30-28.
Parker Henritze led Princeton with 15 kills while Sheena Donohue had 14. Bailey Robinson had 44 assists, while Emily Turner led all back-liners with 16 digs.
