Brittanys Lead Princeton Women to 2-1 Win at Brown

PROVIDENCE -- Junior Brittany Salmon scored both Princeton goals and freshman Brittany Parisi made 12 saves as the ninth-ranked Princeton women's hockey team improved to 3-0-2 with a 2-1 win at Brown on Saturday afternoon.
Brown scored the lone goal of a fairly even first period that saw the Tigers outshoot Brown 5-3. Savannah Smith tallied the goal at 7:42 with an assist from Emilie Bydwell.
Princeton rallied back in the second period as the Tigers edged Brown in shots 15-4. Princeton finally broke through five minutes into period when Salmon scored her second of the season, unassisted. The goal also came while Princeton was shorthanded and was Princeton's third shorthanded goal of the year.
Salmon made the lead 2-1 10 minutes later when she scored her second of the game and third of the season on the power play. Senior Laura Watt and junior Lizzie Keady assisted on the goal. Watt now has assists in all Princeton games this season.
Neither team scored in the third period as Parisi made six third-period saves to preserve the win. Princeton outshot Brown 31-13 for the game.
Parisi made 12 saves for the win in her first collegiate start.
Princeton is now 3-0-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the ECAC Hockey League. The Tigers play at Yale tomorrow.
