Reinprecht to Tour China With USA Field Hockey U21 Team
December 13, 2006 | Field Hockey
Princeton sophomore Sarah Reinprecht was selected as one of 16 players chosen to tour China with the USA Field Hockey U21 Team this spring. The team will compete against the Chinese junior team in March.
A two-time All-Ivy selection, Reinprecht was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year as a freshman. This past season she raised her offensive totals in addition to her steady and solid play in the backfield, scoring five goals and totaling 14 points. Reinprecht also scored in Princeton's comeback win over Old Dominion in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
Reinprecht was named to USA Field Hockey's 2006-07 Women's U21 team last July. That team of 26 players was slimmed down to 16 players and six alternates for the upcoming tour this spring. Selected in the summer at the National Junior Camp in Virginia Beach, the U.S. U21 squad swept a two-game series from a British Columbia under-21 team during the USA/Canada Field Hockey Challenge in July.
The China tour continues the development of the U.S. junior athletes in preparation for the 2008 Junior Pan American Championship and 2009 Junior World Cup.
