Matheson Named NSCAA Women's Soccer All-Region
December 05, 2006 | Women's Soccer
Princeton junior women's soccer midfielder Diana Matheson earned NSCAA Second-Team All-Mid-Atlantic honors this week after leading the Tigers with eight goals and five assists despite playing only 11 games this season.
Matheson missed five of Princeton's games to compete and train with the Canadian national team, with which she spent much of November on the way to a 2007 Women's World Cup qualification spot.
With 20 goals and 19 assists for her career, Matheson stands one assist behind Kathleen Kobler '90 for the all-time career lead and is tied for fourth all-time in total points with 59.
Already in her career, Matheson has been honored three times as a unanimous First-Team All-Ivy pick and was a 2004 NSCAA First-Team All-American while the Tigers were on their way to the NCAA College Cup semifinals that season.
The Tigers finished 8-7-1 this fall to secure the program's 10th straight winning season.
