Tigers Have Strong Performance at Point Loma Invitational

SAN DIEGO - The Princeton men's track team dominated at the Point Loma Invitational during its Spring Break trip to California with numerous outstanding performances.
Winners included sophomore Alex Willis, who had a personal best in the high jump with a leap of 6-9 3/4 on the way to victory. The Point Loma Invitational featured 15 teams from around the nation.
Other Princeton winners included senior Ray Lenihan, who stepped in right where he left off in the indoor season with a victory in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.57 seconds. Bill Foran took the 100 meters in a time of 10.99, while fellow two-sport athlete Brian Shields was a winner in the 200 meters in a time of 22.15.
In the field events, senior Josh Probst was a winner in the javelin with a toss of 205 feet, six inches.
In addition, the Tigers had several strong second-place performances at the event. Alex Pessala, a freshman, had a throw of 178 feet in the hammer while in the pole vault, sophomore Will Byrd was second with a leap of 15 feet, six inches.
Another freshman, Chris Vasich, ran a 54.20 in the 400 meter hurdles, while senior Josh Perry was a second-place finisher for the Tigers in the 800 meters in a time of 1:51.85.
