Eisenberg Cup vs. Yale/Virginia
No. 1 Open Women Avenge Easterns Upset, Top No. 4 Yale By Nine Seconds

PRINCETON - The top-ranked Princeton open women ran its dual meet win streak to 31 races and claimed the Eisenberg Cup with a 9.1-second win over Yale in the first varsity competition Saturday. Princeton won four of six races during ideal conditions, including another victory for the novice eight.
The featured race included three of the top 11 crews in the nation, as No. 11 Virginia also raced against the top two teams from last year's Eastern Sprints grand final. Yale pulled off the upset in that race to claim the Eastern title, but 2004 champion and likely 2006 favorite Princeton was dominant Saturday. Princeton won in 6:15.1, while Yale placed second in 6:24.2. Virginia placed third in 6:32.7.
Princeton also claimed wins in the varsity 4 (7:27.9), the novice 8 (6:40.2) and the second novice (7:54.4). Virginia won the second varsity 8 and the varsity 4 'B' competition.
Princeton will cross state lines for the only time this year next weekend, when it travels to Philadelphia to compete with Penn and Dartmouth for the Class of 1984 Trophy.
