ITHACA, N.Y. - While the top-ranked Princeton heavyweight varsity and second-ranked heavyweight novice (EARC) earned convincing wins, the fourth-ranked second varsity pulled out a thriller by .1 of a second to claim a sweep of Yale and Cornell on Cayuga Lake.
The second varsity finished its win in 5:45.0, while Yale placed second in 5:45.1. The margin of victory for the Tigers was 1.5 feet, but it was enough to push the squad to a sweep. The first varsity improved to 7-0 with a win in 5:36.0, 4.8 seconds faster than Yale, and the first novice finished in 5:55.2, almost six full seconds faster than Cornell.
Princeton will come home next weekend to race No. 4 Brown for the Content Cup. Brown defeated Harvard this year and is ranked second to Princeton in the first Eastern rankings, which came out last week.
