Tigers Head to Boston for Annual H/Y/P Meet
September 21, 2006 | Women's Cross Country
The Princeton women's cross country team gets an early look at two of its Heptagonal rivals Friday afternoon when the Tigers race against Harvard and Yale in the annual H/Y/P tri-meet at Boston's Franklin Park. The race begins at 3:30 p.m.
The Tigers will be looking for their second race win in as many meets this season after inaugurating their new home course with a victory in the Princeton Invitational Sept. 9. A pair of freshmen, Alexa Glencer and Liz Costello, were Princeton's top two finishers in that event on the new 6.1 kilometer course. The Tigers defeated Iona, Villanova, Rutgers and Manhattan at that meet.
The race will feature several top finishers from the Heptagonal meet a year ago, including Princeton's Catha Mullen, Yale's Lindsay Donaldson and Harvard's Lindsey Scherf. Princeton finished second at Ivy League Heptagonals a year ago, while Yale was fourth and Harvard eighth as a team.
Harvard finished fifth out of 18 teams in their season-opening meet at the Fordham Fiasco two weeks ago. Yale was second at the Boston College Invitational last week, and Donaldson won the individual title at the race.
