Tigers To Participate in Lehigh's Paul Short Run
September 28, 2006 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
The nationally-ranked Princeton cross country teams will both make the short trip up to Bethlehem, Pa., Friday afternoon for the 33rd annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University at the Goodman Campus.
The men's collegiate eight-kilometer race starts at 2 p.m., while the Princeton women will run in the 6K women's invitational race beginning at 2:45 p.m.
The Princeton men, who finished third at the Paul Short Run a year ago, are ranked No. 30 in this week's coaches poll. The Princeton women, ranked No. 13 this week, will be joined by No. 9 Wisconsin and No. 18 Tennessee as nationally-ranked teams in the invitational field.
Last week, the Tiger men finished seventh overall at the prestigious Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. The Princeton women dominated in a tri-meet with rivals Yale and Harvard, taking places two through eight to easily defeat both the Bulldogs and the Crimson.
Over 220 collegiate and high school cross country teams will convene on the Goodman Campus for Saturday's event. There are eight different races altogether, separated into collegiate invitational and open divisions and high school varsity and junior varsity categories.
