Tigers Place Eighth at Paul Short Run

Even without several of its top runners, the Princeton men's cross country team finished in eighth place out of 42 teams at the 33rd annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University Friday afternoon.
Senior Eric Beights was Princeton's top finisher individually, placing 39th overall in a time of 25:09 on the eight-kilometer loop at the Goodman Campus. Classmate Jon Charlesworth was just behind in 44th place in a time of 25:13.
Princeton finished with a team score of 310. Villanova won the team race with a score of 103 and the individual race thanks to the performance of Robert Curtis, who ran the eight kilomters in a time of 23:53.
Sophomore Bryan Sharkey was Princeton's third finisher, in 50th place in a time of 25:15. Junior Rob Grote was 82nd in 25:35, while a freshman, Jimmy Joy, was the Tigers' final scorer in 100th place in a time of 25:47.
Justin Pines and Kyle Smith also ran in the race for Princeton, which was just edged by Coastal Carolina for seventh place in the event.
