Park Wins Pole Vault at Penn State National Invitational

Princeton senior captain Andrew Park continued his strong indoor season to date by winning the pole vault Friday night at the Penn State National Invitational at PSU's Ashenfelter Track.
Park, a Heptagonal champion and All-East selection a season ago, was the only competitor to clear 5.10 meters (16 feet, 8 3/4 inches) on the way to the victory. His mark was just behind his personal best of 16 feet, 10 3/4 inches.
In other field events Friday, sophomore Alex Pessala finished third in the 35-lb. weight throw with a toss of 58 feet, one inch. Freshman Scott Henkelman participated in the long jump, where he finished 13th with a jump of 22 feet, 1 1/2 inches.
Freshman Tim Branigan raced 11th in the 1,500 meters in a time of 15:11.12
Action at the Penn State National Invitational concludes Saturday.
