Streaking Volleyball Wins Tight One Over Yale, 3-1, Stays Undefeated In Ivies

Sheena Donohue had 20 kills and cemented a fourth-game Princeton comeback with a key defensive play as Princeton stayed unbeaten in the Ivy League and won its 10th straight match overall with a 3-1 victory over Yale in a women's volleyball thriller at Dillon Gym Friday night.
Donahue's diving dig just before a ball hit the floor led to a kill by Parker Henritze and a 28-27 Princeton lead in Game 4, the Tigers' first lead in the game since 4-3. After Yale (8-5, 2-2 Ivy) responded to tie the game at 29, Lindsey Ensign then gave Princeton (12-3, 4-0 Ivy) the victory with two of her team-high 22 kills on the night.
Princeton trailed in the decisive fourth game 22-16 before coming back to tie the game on a Donahue kill and a Yale hitting error. The Tigers also trailed 13-9 in the third game of the match before coming back to win.
Game scores for the match were 35-33, 26-30, 34-32 and 31-29.
Ensign added one solo block and four block assists to her 22 kills, whie Henritze added 20 kills and 20 digs. Alexis Crusey led Yale with 23 kills and 25 digs.
Both teams came out firing in Game 1, with the Tigers hitting .305 for the first game (23 kills, five errors). The game was tied at every score from 23-23 to 33-33 before Ensign had a kill to make it 34-33 and then helped on a block to win the game for Princeton.
Princeton led Game 2 early, but the Bulldogs scored five straight points midway through the game to go ahead 23-16.
Bailey Robinson had 65 assists and eight digs for the Tigers, who host Brown at Dillon Gym Saturday afternoon (4 p.m.)
The Tigers have not lost since Sept. 14, when they fell to Liberty at the Villanova Tournament.
