Princeton Wins Third Straight ECAC Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The 18th-ranked Princeton women's water polo team won its third straight ECAC Championship on Sunday afternoon when it defeated Brown 7-6 in a tightly played came at Harvard's Blodgett Pool. Princeton is now 7-4 this season after winning three times this weekend.
Princeton took a lead early in the game and stayed a step ahead of Brown throughout the game. Princeton led 5-3 at the half and 7-6 at the final buzzer. Senior Karina Reyner and freshman Phoebe Champion both scored twice in the game, while three others added a single goal apiece. Junior Natalie Kim made 11 saves in goal for Princeton.
Following the game, four Tigers earned All-ECAC recognition. Senior Elyse Colgan, Reyner and Kim were named first-team All-ECAC and senior Samantha Shaughnessy was a second-team selection.
Princeton returns to action next Friday when it hosts Bucknell at 8 p.m. The game is Princeton's first home game and first league game of the season.
