George Washington, Virginia & Notre Dame

Women's Open Crew Falls to Notre Dame and Virginia
April 28, 2007 | Women's Rowing - Open
The 7th-ranked Tigers knew they faced a tough task by hosting No. 5
Virginia and No. 6 Notre Dame on Saturday, but put on a strong performance by
finishing in 6:25.0. The squads faced tailwinds and crosswinds on a sunny Lake Carnegie. The
varsity eight race was very tight, as to be expected with the 5-6-7
teams competing. They finished within six seconds of each other with
the Fighting Irish leading the way with a time of 6:19.1. George
Washington also competed, and crossed the finish line in 6:47.5.
Princeton registered a win in the novice four race, crushing Notre Dame by nearly 26 seconds. The second varsity eight finished in second, just 1.6 seconds behind Virginia, and made a strong second-place showing in the varsity four race.
The Orange and Black has next weekend off to prepare for the Eastern Women's Sprints, which will be held in Camden on Sunday, May 13.
